Job Summary

Atlas Technical Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Hygienist to join our team. As an Industrial Hygienist, you will be responsible for conducting complex building science and industrial hygiene safety assessments, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field assessments and analyze data to determine if additional sampling is required
  • Prepare and collect samples, including setting up equipment and documenting observations
  • Analyze previous building science and industrial hygiene safety surveys to determine if additional sampling is required
  • Independently perform field assessments where problems encountered are generally well-understood and easily identified
  • Collect environmental and personal samples for analysis and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory for analysis
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate building science and industrial hygiene instruments and equipment
  • Compile and provide summary of analytical data and organize data for reports
  • Assist with implementing strategies, IH standards, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment requirements to control and minimize workplace hazards
  • Perform air sampling, noise level monitoring, and other environmental testing activities to measure the concentration of pollutants or hazardous agents in the workplace and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Contribute to the development of education and training programs for workers and management regarding potential hazards, safe work practices, and the proper use of protective equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to advise on less complex workplace incidents or complaints related to health hazards by investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Assist in basic management duties such as developing work scope and proposal budgets
  • Stay current with applicable regulatory knowledge and field industry trends
  • Travel to client sites, including occasional overnight stays as needed

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet qualifications to successfully complete Drug-Alcohol Testing
  • Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or certificate in project planning, management, environmental sciences, engineering, construction, architecture, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or a related science field preferred
  • Field work experience may be substituted in lieu of science education requirements
  • Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed
  • 2+ years' experience of technically sound consulting experience conducting and managing Industrial Hygiene and Building Science projects
  • Asbestos Surveys, Mold Surveys, Lead-Based Paint Surveys, Radon Surveys, Exposure Monitoring Experience, Noise Monitoring Experience
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders
  • Ability to travel locally up to 75%
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proficient in project management and personnel management
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Microsoft Software and Applications
  • Background in Industrial Hygiene and/or Building Sciences related practices
  • Knowledge with various Industrial Hygiene and/or Building Sciences related sampling equipment and protocols
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, radon, indoor air quality, and/or industrial hygiene services required
