Sprinkler System Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary

As a Fire Protection Service Professional at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for performing service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. This includes wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps. You will follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment. Additionally, you will demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives and ascertain equipment/system problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Requirements
  • 7-10 years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet.
  • On Call Rotation occasionally.
  • Must be able to follow, read, and understand all safety requirements of the company and the customer.
  • Participate in the On-Call rotation.
  • Current Oklahoma Fire Sprinkler Technician License.
  • PREFERRED: NICET Level II certification and Backflow certification.
