Job Title: Medical Assistant - Orthopedic Specialist

Job Summary:

Nexus Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in an Orthopedic setting. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing treatment areas.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform various clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with minor procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant; current BCLS certification required.
  • Phlebotomy experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range required.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinical environment may occur.
