About the Role

At Food Safety Net Services, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for preparing samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks, including:
  • Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
  • Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload
  • Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing
  • Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements
  • Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal
  • Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a High School diploma or GED, and preferably an Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience. Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory is essential. Ability to travel is preferred.
