Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Relay Protection Engineer to join our team at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. As a key member of our Protective System and Testing Section, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of various microprocessor relay upgrade projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of microprocessor relay upgrade projects
  • Travel to field locations to assist personnel in resolving issues during system outages or open auto investigations
  • Develop operational and maintenance test instructions for relays
  • Develop test plans for microprocessor relays
  • Provide necessary training for relay technicians
  • Act as technical liaison between Central Engineering and various groups
  • Evaluate maintenance practices and develop more efficient and reliable methods
  • Review and comment on Engineering design concept for relays and relay upgrades
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relative work experience in relay protection or system testing
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and VISIO
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver exemplary customer service and develop a team-spirited work environment
  • Knowledge of Protection Suite and/or various relay software
  • Acute knowledge of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) CIP Standards
