As a key member of the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Services staff, you will play a critical role in identifying, recruiting, and enrolling top-quality candidates from local and regional schools.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach plan to communicate with potential students and their families.
- Collaborate with other CAS recruiters and the Director to create and implement effective recruitment strategies.
- Conduct initial academic advising appointments for prospective first-year and transfer students.
- Assist with CAS in-person new student orientation sessions.
- Develop strategic recruitment plans that include efficient travel and maximum exposure to potential undergraduate candidates.
- Create and foster partnerships with high school counselors, alumni, community college partners, and the community.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency with technology that supports both students and professional practice, such as MS Word, Excel, Student Information Systems, Degree Audits, Internet/online resources, etc.
- Administrative and organization skills with the ability to handle simultaneous projects.
- The ability to relate effectively to students and their families, faculty, support staff, and alumni.
- Ability to present complex information to groups of students, their families, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum one-year experience in a higher education setting with an emphasis on undergraduate student affairs.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Two years' experience in a higher education setting with an emphasis on undergraduate student affairs.
- Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations.
- Liberal arts background.
