Walker Healthforce is on the lookout for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations effectively. This full-time position will involve overseeing payroll across multiple states, along with some responsibilities in human resources, billing, and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and execution of weekly payroll across multiple states.
  • Handle minor bookkeeping tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and journal entries, utilizing Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks (Desktop Enterprise edition).
  • Oversee onboarding processes and manage new hire documentation.
Payroll Processing Duties
  • Execute full-service payroll processing on a weekly basis for multiple states and companies.
  • Manage time and attendance records, including both manual entries and imports.
  • Process direct deposits, tax forms, garnishments, and miscellaneous deductions.
  • Generate and review payroll reports as needed.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations with the General Ledger.
Additional Job Functions
  • Analyze payroll strategies and suggest improvements for efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Process employee changes, including deductions, scheduled payments, and benefit enrollments.
  • Organize timesheets and expense reports for contractors.
  • Audit payroll accounts to identify discrepancies and initiate corrections.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure the integrity of payroll systems.
  • Handle state registrations for payroll-related taxes and respond to agency inquiries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Administer wage attachments and garnishments, coordinating with relevant vendors.
  • Support employee access to payroll portals and manage tax data corrections.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience with ADP or similar payroll systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, reporting requirements, and multi-state payroll laws.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • 5+ years of experience processing payroll for a multi-state workforce.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and labor laws.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems.
  • FPC or CPP Payroll Certification is a plus.
