Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team at PruittHealth. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and gather information to develop individualized recreation programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.
  • Update resident recreation programs as needed to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
  • Schedule recreational activities to accommodate residents' hours and preferences.
  • Provide activities for residents confined to their rooms that reflect their life-long interests.
  • Develop and implement effective procedures to ensure that all residents are informed about activities and encouraged to participate.
  • Record progress notes and audit chart entries for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform quality assessment and assurance functions, including daily regulatory compliance rounds and record reviews.
  • Develop and update Recreation Services policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the Nursing Home Administrator on a daily basis to discuss resident care, personnel, and budget issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work, or other behavioral sciences.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year full-time employment in a patient/resident activities program in a healthcare setting.
