Surgical Orthopedic Nurse Coordinator

Del Sol Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Coordinator Surgical Ortho Trauma to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling. Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- ADN or BSN degree required; MSN degree preferred.
- RN licensure in Texas or compact state required.
- BCLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Two years of clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing required; one year of management experience preferred.
- Acute Care experience preferred.
- Ability to develop a staff schedule, critical thinking ability, and ability to cope effectively with crisis and emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, encourage team-building efforts, and listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal, and external partner needs.
