Position Overview

*This role is essential for preparing and delivering wholesome meals for students while ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

Responsible for food preparation and service in accordance with established menus and portion control guidelines.

  • Conducts cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment and work areas, and managing dishwashing duties.


  • Prepares beverages, sets up food stations, and maintains hot and cold food areas.
  • Delivers food to staff and students as needed, including catering events.
  • Adheres to all health department regulations for safe food handling.


  • Follows security protocols and guidelines at all client locations.
  • Receives and organizes incoming supplies.
  • Observes scheduled breaks as assigned.
  • Collects and prepares trays for dishwashing and assists in ware washing as required.
  • Organizes and stores utensils, dishes, and cookware.
  • Participates in safety committees.
  • Attends mandatory training sessions.
  • Handles cash and POS transactions if required for the role.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complies with all Whitsons policies and procedures consistently.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of all required Whitsons training and other mandated programs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in English to understand and execute job responsibilities.
  • Preferred one year of experience in a professional food service environment.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Work Environment:

  • The work primarily occurs in kitchen and serving line settings.
  • Extended periods of standing are necessary.
  • Involves movement in and out of storage areas and freezers.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration processes.
  • The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
