About This Role

The Senior Director of Commercial Strategy & Operations will play a pivotal role in driving business objectives for Biogen North America. This individual will establish clear strategic priorities, drive execution effectiveness, and spearhead innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. BNA Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategic priorities for BNA in partnership with the Leadership Team.
  • Lead scenario planning and facilitate the development of a multi-year BNA strategy and annual strategy refresh.
  • Ensure coordination of strategic initiatives across BNA to leverage synergies, identify interdependencies, and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Support the Head of Strategic Operations and Portfolio Innovations in preparation for Board and EC-level business reviews and communications.
  • Lead due diligence assessments for potential business development opportunities.

2. Operations & Commercial Excellence

  • Drive optimization and continuous improvement of the BNA annual strategic planning cycle in partnership with FP&A and business franchises.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business practices and processes to maximize resources and achieve operational excellence across BNA.
  • Develop and implement processes for capturing, cataloging, analyzing, and disseminating key lessons to be learned from initiatives.

3. New Products Commercialization and Integration Support

  • Liaise with Global PDCs and lead new products commercialization for BNA for pipeline and/or Business Development assets.
  • Assess and lead the build-out of new product commercialization capabilities in North America in collaboration with all key functions across the organization.
  • Manage and oversee all late-stage BNA pipeline programs to ensure BNA partnership with Global PDCs and initiate BNA preparations for launch readiness.
  • Support the integration of potential M&A deals into BNA business.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years of experience leading large/complex programs and initiatives
  • Commercial functional knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters/MBA or other advanced educational achievement
  • Pharma Commercial Experience is preferred
  • Previous Strategy Consulting in Pharma strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in Go-To-Market design, Product Launch, or Brand Marketing Experience Preferred
