Enrollment Representative II

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Enrollment Representative II to join our team at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and processing subscriber and member enrollment applications, updating electronic enrollment files, and working with multiple operational areas to ensure accurate group structure and billing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and log subscriber and member enrollment applications to the system.
- Process complex applications, including new enrollments, terminations/cancellations, changes, and renewals.
- Update all electronic enrollment files.
- Work edit/error reports generated from membership transactions.
- Collaborate with operational areas to ensure accurate group structure, status, benefits, and billing.
- Prepare and issue contracts, benefit books, and standard and custom ID cards.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries.
- Train new staff and update/maintain accurate desk procedures.
- Coordinate monthly billing and prepare monthly invoices.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of customer service, administration/clerical support, or a combination of the two.
- 1 year of experience in a membership/billing/accounts area (may be concurrent).
- Ability to acquire knowledge of the membership system.
- Good judgment and effective customer service and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior customer service experience.
- Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) skills.
