Nuclear Medicine Technologist II

At Kaiser Permanente, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Your expertise will ensure efficient and safe processes, and you will perform related technological functions to guarantee optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, you will perform diagnostic studies on patients, utilizing scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
- You will prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the general supervision of the Physician.
- Measuring radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors, and calibrating equipment are also key responsibilities.
- You will follow radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- May direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
Grade 890
Basic Qualifications: Experience- Minimum of three years continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
- Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

- High School Diploma/GED
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR Medical Lab Technician Certificate from American Society for Clinical Pathologists OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
