Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Vacaville, California. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
- Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
- Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors, and calibrate equipment.
- Follow radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists as needed.
- Minimum of three years continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
- Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate (California).
- Basic Life Support.
