Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ashe Memorial Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Properly identify patients prior to exams and serve all patients referred to the department for radiologic examination.
  • Position patients on examination tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specified body areas.
  • Acquire images that comply with departmental standards of high quality.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
  • Knowledge of improvement process plans and reliable for on-call status.
  • Comply with and know charging processes and make appropriate changes when necessary.
  • Document and submit all pertinent clinical information to radiologists prior to patient departure.
  • Follow department routines for exams and document reasons for not following routine views.
  • Scan and document all medications and allergies in Meditech as required by policy.
  • Knowledge of all special procedures in the area.
  • Exhibit a pleasant disposition and maintain a professional attitude in the workplace.
  • Show a willingness to cross-train and strive to continually improve or develop skills.
  • Knowledge of PACS systems and how to operate, make appropriate changes prior to sending to radiologists, and create CDs.
  • Actively look for other duties to perform when patient volumes are low.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program that is AMA-approved and meets the requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or its equivalent.
  • At least one year of radiology experience is preferred, but a less experienced applicant would be considered.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must be a graduate.
  • CPR certification.
