Team Overview:
Luminar Technologies is in search of a Program Management Specialist to spearhead projects throughout all Engineering phases of the Product lifecycle. This position is crucial for overseeing cross-functional technical collaboration within Luminar, ensuring effective customer development and value delivery.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across functions to convert program requirements and milestones into comprehensive execution plans for engineering teams.
- Drive adherence to these plans, facilitate team meetings, communicate progress, and address any blocking issues.
- Engage with fellow Program Managers on all technical facets of development.
- Work directly with OEMs to synchronize on product specifications, performance, and the integration of the sensor platform within the OEM ecosystem.
- Promptly escalate risks and issues, driving them to resolution.
- Proactively coordinate among functional groups to manage dependencies between Hardware, Software, and suppliers.
- Continuously assess internal processes to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure engineering alignment within Luminar's product development framework.
- Prepare and distribute project status reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate closely with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to facilitate a smooth transition for SAFE Launch and Start-of-Production (SOP).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in technical project/program management within the Automotive sector.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, Confluence, Jira, and ERP systems like Arena.
- Experience in defining release readiness criteria, ensuring compliance before deployment.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Certification.
- Knowledge of Embedded Systems and Software.
- Experience in Hardware Product Development.
- Master's Degree in an Engineering or Technical field.
- Experience with Automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
