Job SummaryThe Residential Advisor works directly with residents to ensure their well-being and development, providing instruction and guidance in daily living skills and implementing the daily management and operation of the home in compliance with state regulations and The Arc policies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the daily schedule of residents, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Supervise and support direct care staff, providing guidance and training to ensure they complete their daily tasks effectively.
- Manage staff members who work in the home, including training, scheduling shifts, and evaluating performance.
- Participate in the development and revision of the Person-Centered Plan (PCP), ensuring that the plan is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each resident.
- Assist residents in acquiring independence and social living skills, promoting their overall well-being and quality of life.
- Ensure the nutritional needs of residents are met by planning and preparing balanced meals, shopping for groceries, and adhering to a budget.
- Record keeping duties, including maintaining daily logs, reviewing and approving time sheets, and completing incident reports as necessary.
- Document progress towards person-centered goals in iCare Manager.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the residence, encouraging maximum client participation and involvement in normal household chores.
- Transport residents to scheduled agency activities or individually scheduled appointments.
- Provide for the safety of residents at all times.
- A minimum of an Associate's degree or 60 credit hours with an emphasis in human services-related subjects, or 15 credit hours with an emphasis in human services-related subjects and one year of experience in the treatment and care of people with developmental disabilities.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, and other Developmental Disabilities Administration and Arc required training.
- A valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
- A clean drug screen and criminal record, as The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults.
- A competitive hourly rate of $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
