Program Associate for Consumer Advisory Board

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Associate for Consumer Advisory Board to join our team at New York State Civil Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, evaluating individual needs, and monitoring quality of service provisions.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Evaluate individual needs, including housing, medical, and social needs
- Monitor quality of service provisions and protection from harm
- Assist local parent advisory groups and participate in community education programs
- Participate in the placement planning process and educational/vocational program services
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field
- At least three years' experience working with and for persons with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, applicable federal regulations, and care coordination entities
- Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) certification
- Knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluating programs
- Familiarity with normalization as a practice
- Knowledge of the Willowbrook Permanent Injunction
We offer a competitive salary range from $65,001 to $82,656 annually, full-time employment, and a temporary appointment. The position requires 70% travel and a 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Telecommuting is allowed.
