About the Role

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and providing continuous care, supervision, and interaction with patients of all ages. As an active member of the treatment team, the MHT works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care and support.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being through continuous monitoring and supervision
  • Provide patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and medical procedures
  • Interact with patients and families to promote a positive and supportive environment
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Two years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state
  • Successful completion of Management Aggressive Behavior Training (CPI) and certification in CPR
