Role Overview: The selected candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for the architecture, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of our enterprise IT infrastructure, which encompasses both secure cloud-hosted and on-premises environments. The DevOps Systems Engineer will engage in various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Evaluating technology solutions for their functional, performance, security, and interoperability aspects; conducting thorough testing and assessments of technology components;
  • Collaborating with system architects and lead engineers to enhance the design and architecture of infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions;
  • Creating, developing, and updating reusable automation modules tailored for network and systems infrastructure, data storage, messaging, and cybersecurity services;
  • Developing and maintaining infrastructure configuration code for both new and existing enterprise IT solutions;
  • Improving and maintaining DevOps infrastructure, including source code repositories (Git), deployment pipelines, and associated components;
  • Planning, assessing, and executing capacity optimization, updates, upgrades, and other lifecycle management activities related to the solutions; resolving functional and performance issues;
  • Producing and maintaining comprehensive system documentation, which includes design and configuration plans, diagrams, operational procedures, and maintenance strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, implementation, and support;
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevOps methodologies, processes, and best practices;
  • Extensive experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), development tools (e.g., Visual Studio), and source code management systems (e.g., Git);
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management systems, such as Atlassian Jira, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.;
  • Understanding of MS Windows platforms and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, virtual desktop infrastructure, and networking services;
  • Hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud technologies, covering compute, database, storage, and security services;
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, operational concepts, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.

General Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Proficiency in workflow and lifecycle management systems (e.g., Atlassian Jira).

Education and Certifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline;
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional / Systems Engineer certification is highly preferred; Security+ or CISSP certification is also desirable.
