Overview

As an Airport Operations Crew Member at Avelo Airlines, you will be integral in providing outstanding Customer Service to our passengers daily. This role encompasses vital duties in both Customer Service and Ramp Operations, ensuring that flights depart safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Deliver an exceptional Customer Experience by guiding passengers through each phase of their airport journey.
  • Assist with check-in processes for Customers and their luggage in the lobby.
  • Manage boarding procedures at the gate, facilitating the boarding of flights and addressing Customer inquiries.
  • Support Customers at baggage claim by resolving baggage issues, filing claims, and providing information.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities, including providing wheelchair support, managing assistive devices, and facilitating on-board transfers as necessary.
  • Operate boarding ramps, jet bridges, and air stairs where applicable.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure a superior service experience for our Customers.
Ramp Operations
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ensure the safe arrival and departure of aircraft by serving as a pushback driver, marshaller, or wing-walker.
  • Handle baggage with care, including unloading, loading, and delivering it to the claim area.
  • Conduct de-icing operations on aircraft to remove any frozen contaminants before departure.
  • Prepare aircraft for departure by servicing with potable water and managing lavatory waste.
  • Perform cleaning and security checks of aircraft interiors.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as necessary to guarantee safe and timely departures.
Requirements
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment across various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to diverse environmental conditions, heights, confined spaces, and high noise levels from aircraft and machinery.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Capability to assist with wheelchair mobility on inclines.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license from a US state.
  • Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings, including an FBI background check and drug test.
  • Obtain an airport SIDA badge.
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Duties and responsibilities may change based on circumstances (e.g., emergencies, workload fluctuations).
