We are seeking a skilled Nurse Transfer Center Coordinator to join our team at Baptist Health System. As a key member of our transfer center, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating all aspects of the transfer process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from community hospitals
- Collaborate with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff to foster relationships and represent the Tenet Healthcare Mission and Values
- Serve as a clinical resource for non-nursing transfer center staff, making clinical decisions and ensuring accurate documentation
- Maintain a working knowledge of EMTALA and other regulations governing patient transfers
- Utilize applicable systems to facilitate bed flow and expedite patient placement
- Complete established competencies for the position within a designated introductory period
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 4 years of experience in an acute care setting
- Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- ER/Critical Care or charge nurse, house supervisor, or other management experience
