Job Summary:

The United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile and Central Alabama is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our CCEP program, you will play a vital role in promoting developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education and supporting childcare providers in including children with special healthcare needs in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model and counsel childcare providers and directors on inclusion practices and developmentally appropriate education.
  • Facilitate CCEP training sessions for childcare providers and other target audiences.
  • Provide technical assistance in classrooms through modeling, mentoring, and consulting.
  • Coordinate developmental screenings with childcare providers and the screening team.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and participate in parent education initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education management.
  • Valid driver's license and driver's liability insurance.

Physical Demands:

  • Light/sedentary exertion required, with occasional lifting of up to 201bs.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hands.
  • Must be able to exchange and express ideas through spoken communication.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to varied work environments and facilities.
  • Frequent use of office equipment and travel to childcare centers.
