Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Intake Specialist to join our team at Ascension Wisconsin. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for conducting interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions, providing admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients, and responding to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions.
  • Provide admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
  • Admit patients to the hospital and register outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility.
  • Document calls and related admission information.
  • Review all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies.
  • May staff a crisis hotline.

Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: One or more of the following required:
  • Licensed Clinical Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
