Job Overview:
We are currently in search of a dedicated Plant Worker responsible for the unloading of waste from transport vehicles, ensuring the decontamination of these vehicles, and the appropriate staging of waste for subsequent scanning and processing.
The selected candidate will carry out these responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently unload waste from incoming vehicles, ensuring the separation of non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
- Properly stage waste on the conveyor system or stack waste for scanning within the Biotrack system.
- Accurately scan waste into the Biotrack system to maintain proper recordkeeping.
- Load waste into autoclave bins or incinerator hoppers for processing.
- Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for thorough decontamination.
- Operate the tub wash unit, ensuring its proper functionality. Remove clean tubs from the wash unit, inspect them, and stack them for loading onto the designated vehicle for reuse.
- Utilize the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, ensuring operational efficiency. Inspect and stack tubs for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
- Decontaminate the cargo area of vehicles, reload assigned reusable tubs, and ensure the cargo area is free of liquids. Notify the plant supervisor when the vehicle is ready for movement from the dock area.
- Address housekeeping issues promptly, including spills, ensuring floors are dry, and maintaining a debris-free environment.
- Assist in various areas of plant operations as directed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience or training, showcasing strong communication skills and professionalism.
- The role requires significant physical activity, including lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 55 pounds and pushing/pulling carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and basic computer operations is essential.
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating a powered industrial truck, such as a forklift, is advantageous.
