Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Supervisor to join our team at Connections Health Solutions. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing operational and administrative oversight of our facility during assigned shifts or within specific units. Your primary goal will be to ensure that processes are streamlined to deliver the most efficient care to patients and effective utilization of resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the operation of the assigned unit and shift, ensuring that the clinical team functions efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Oversee the organization and flow of patients within the unit and facility, including delegating work assignments across all disciplines and managing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Ensure that all clinical staff adhere to Utilization Management and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines, facilitating accurate coding and billing of services.
  • Address and resolve escalated concerns from both internal and external stakeholders, proactively identifying and managing barriers that could impact patient flow.
  • Maintain strict adherence to policies, procedures, standards of practice, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff, ensuring they are fully integrated into unit processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with discipline managers to ensure comprehensive orientation to their roles.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and theories to maintain a safe environment, effectively communicating and demonstrating roles and responsibilities related to safety.
  • Be trained in and capable of performing Safe Clinch techniques, providing oversight, and guidance to the clinical team during crises.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative managers to identify, address, and manage performance and behavior issues among staff.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience as a direct clinical care provider in Nursing, Social Services, Administrative or Milieu support (BHS/RSS)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to encourage cross-functional and multi-disciplinary partnership
  • Working understanding of utilization management and revenue cycle management in the behavioral health setting
  • Must pass the following background checks: Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Criminal Background Check, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of clinical work experience in a crisis behavioral health setting
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Ability to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques
