Job Description

Messina Talent Advisors is seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic support to our client, a global chemical manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Support: Provide HR support to 6-8 company manufacturing sites and functional groups, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead the full talent acquisition cycle for assigned sites and functional groups, including recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Own the onboarding and offboarding process for assigned sites and functional groups, ensuring a seamless transition for new employees and departing staff.
  • Partnering: Partner with regional managers and site managers to provide HR guidance and support, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Employee Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for employees and managers at assigned sites and functional groups, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • HR Processes: Proactively support the delivery of HR processes at assigned sites and functional groups, including recognition and engagement efforts.
  • Business Relationships: Build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Problem-Solving: Actively identify opportunities and develop proactive solutions to address HR-related challenges.
  • Succession Planning: Work with managers to develop succession plans for key talent and positions, ensuring continuity and growth within the organization.
  • Employee Investigations: Lead employee investigations, ensuring fair and impartial processes.
  • Unemployment Claims: Respond to unemployment claims and third-party charges, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations, such as employee retention and exit interview data.
  • Meetings and Reporting: Lead meetings with upper management and the executive team as it relates to sites or functional groups, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Travel: Travel up to 20% within the U.S. to support HR initiatives and projects.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be proficient in HR systems and processes, with a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
