Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Resources Manager to join our team at the City of Atlanta. As a key member of our water management team, you will be responsible for managing the City's water, sewer, and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water services to our citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the hydraulic modeling tasks for the water, sewer, and wastewater treatment plants, assigning tasks to staff and serving as a City expert on pumps, hydraulics, and environmental processes.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to assigned staff, managing the staff, functions, operations, programs, classes, seminars, and budget of the department's training division.
  • Serve as technical lead in handling modeling projects, coordinating and conducting source water monitoring and modeling activities with relevant agencies.
  • Protect the City's infrastructure and surface waters by enforcing environmental regulations and supporting sustainable growth while protecting resources for future generations.
  • Provide leadership in community outreach efforts related to watershed planning, developing and disseminating outreach materials to stakeholders.
  • Provide general technical guidance to support Watershed operations, managing day-to-day operation of IT, network infrastructure, network security, servers, and service desk.
  • Manage small to large design projects meeting schedule, scope, and budget objectives, preparing revenue forecasts, and reconciling cash accounts.
Requirements
  • Class I Operator License.
  • 3 years' of work experience in the Water Management role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree with a major in Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, Land Use Planning, Engineering, Soils Science, Hydrology, or related area with experience in water quality management.
  • 3 years' of work experience in the Water Management role with experience in Billing & Collections.
