As an Assistant Room Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day activities of Rooms Operations, including Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. Your primary focus will be on assisting employees in carrying out guest arrival and departure procedures and maintaining the property's cleanliness standards. You will strive to ensure guest and employee satisfaction and achieve the operating budget.
Key Responsibilities- Support the management of Rooms Operations activities, including opening and closing Front Desk shifts, reviewing critical information in room operations reports, and operating department equipment as necessary.
- Ensure employees have the proper supplies and uniforms, and understand night audit procedures and reports.
- Communicate performance expectations to employees in accordance with job descriptions, handle employee questions and concerns, and effectively schedule employees to business demands.
- Supervise same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy, verify accuracy of room rates, and use budgets and operating statements to assist in the management of Room Operations.
- Participate in the management of departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals, and understand the impact of Room Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
- Assist in the investigation of employee and guest accidents, use a guest information tracking system to recognize guest preferences, and set a positive example for guest relations.
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints, and assist in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
