Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Security Specialist to join our team at First Mid Bank & Trust. As a key member of our Enterprise Risk Management department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical security program that aligns with our business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Security Program Components: Create and ensure that all physical security program components, including opening and closing procedures, security incident responses, and documentation, are current, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for security expectations and requirements across all locations company-wide.
  • Leadership and Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight to security coordinators to ensure compliance with security expectations and requirements, maintaining a physical security protocol enterprise-wide.
  • Training and Development: Assign and verify completion of applicable on-site robbery prevention and physical security training for security coordinators.
  • Incident Management: Manage and report to leadership on security incidents and threats, developing and overseeing collection of physical security reporting requirements.
  • Risk Management: Develop, monitor, and manage KRI metrics and risk trends for reporting to management and applicable committees.
  • Physical Security Strategy: Oversee the overall physical security strategy, including growth and maintenance of the physical security program, both technology and practices/procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain working relationships with security vendors company-wide.
  • Security Technology: Manage all security-related technology and equipment company-wide, planning, developing, and implementing the annual physical security budget.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to security issues and events by working with vendors, facilities, and/or branch personnel, remediate associated help desk tickets or alerts related to physical security.
  • Physical Security Working Group: Chair the Physical Security Working Group, preparing reporting to applicable management committees and the Board of Directors.
  • Risk Awareness: Establish senior management and board awareness of the risks associated with physical security, supplying the Board with an annual update.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Respond to requests and inquiries from auditors and regulators during reviews in respective areas.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Be available to respond to emergencies outside of working hours and flexibility to travel on short notice to address significant situations.
  • Professional Development: Network with other banks or law enforcement for security issues and best practices, complete annual training associated with job functions.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or information systems preferred or commensurate banking experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years financial services/banking experience required, including 3+ years experience in risk management and/or physical security.
Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills: A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively to a diverse range of individuals.
  • Analytical Skills: A high level of analytical skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn advanced software systems.
