Position Overview:
The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is in search of a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Catheterization Radiologic Technologist to join our team. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional patient care within the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This includes scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and operating advanced medical equipment during complex examinations and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Proficiently manage all aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring optimal patient safety and care.
2. Collaborate with physicians to execute both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including but not limited to:
- Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
- Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Stent placements
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
- Temporary and permanent pacemaker placements
3. Maintain a thorough understanding of cardiac medications, their appropriate dosages, and potential side effects.
4. Educate patients and their families regarding procedures and post-procedural care, ensuring they are well-informed and comfortable.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a certification in general radiologic technology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and have completed a comprehensive training program in diagnostic radiologic technology. Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.

Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility in work hours, including on-call duties and the ability to manage late cases and emergencies. The incumbent will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the health and well-being of our veteran population.
