About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent's. As a key member of our Cath Lab team, you will play a vital role in assisting with heart procedures and collaborating with cardiologists, nurses, and other specialists to diagnose and treat heart conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Vascular Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease or obstructions, ensuring accurate results and patient safety.
  • Evaluate Patient Conditions: Assess patient presence of peripheral vascular disease, selecting the most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor Patient Comfort and Safety: Maintain patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition, reporting deficiencies and failures, and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Position Patients and Select Parameters: Position patients accurately and select anatomic and technical parameters for diagnostic procedures.
  • Comply with Regulatory Standards: Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards, including submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Department: Ensure a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Possess BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date, and one or more of the following certifications: Cardiographic Tech, Radiologic Technologist, or Medical Sonographer.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
