Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to provide mental health skills services to adults in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
The successful candidate will be able to provide culturally sensitive services and possess clinically creative skills. They will also be able to work independently and ensure compliance with DHS regulations.
Responsibilities- Provide mental health skills services to adults in their homes
- Maintain a caseload and meet billable hour requirements
- Provide culturally sensitive services
- Work independently and ensure compliance with DHS regulations
- Document services and maintain accurate records
- Participate in department clinical supervision and other meetings
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences or a related field and at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults. They will also have completed 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
Alternatively, the candidate may be fluent in a non-English language and have completed the required training. They may also have completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is quiet and requires occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The physical demands of the job include frequent talking and hearing.
