About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team in Windsor, CT. As a hybrid underwriter, you will have the opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite multi-line middle market accounts, providing feedback to sales teams and underwriting management on trends and issues within assigned territories.
  • Work closely with sales personnel to obtain information needed to properly underwrite, price, and program individual policies/accounts.
  • Evaluate established procedures for effectiveness and recommend changes.
  • Perform other job-related duties, including training, presenting, attending sales meetings, traveling to agents, participating in audits, and covering desks for other Underwriters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous Commercial Property Casualty insurance underwriting experience.
  • Completed insurance courses, such as IIA and/or CPCU, preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial multi-line product line insurance concepts and terminology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of reinsurance procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, human relations, and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet limited travel requirements.
