Job Summary

The University of California seeks a highly skilled Neurosurgical Care Coordinator to provide exceptional patient care and support services. This role requires a strong understanding of neurosurgical medical terminology, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care, including scheduling appointments, pre and post-scrubbing, and assisting with diagnostic tests.
  • Manage clinic visits, prepare charts and documents, and enter referrals and orders.
  • Process insurance pre-certifications, referral authorizations, and medical records requests.
  • Organize and maintain a computer calendar system and assist with processing disability and return-to-work forms.
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary program meetings and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of physician office policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Knowledge of neurosurgical diagnosis, treatments, and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of the University system.
  • Familiarity with physician office billing procedures and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak with persons of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to handle variable supervisors and work schedules.
