About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wildlife Management Program Coordinator to join our team at the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in planning, developing, and administering complex operational and technical assistance programs designed to efficiently and effectively reduce wildlife damage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and administering wildlife damage management programs.
  • Collaborate with State Directors to conduct continuing reviews and evaluations of projects and activities to determine overall program effectiveness and compliance with required operating procedures.
  • Prepare long-range work plans, work schedules, and priorities, formulate budget estimates, and administer fund expenditures.
  • Oversee a large workforce of federal and cooperative employees, including biologists, technicians, and administrative staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or related field.
  • At least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects such as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, or research courses in wildlife biology.
  • At least 12 semester hours in zoology, including general zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, cellular biology, parasitology, entomology, or research courses in such subjects.
  • At least 9 semester hours in botany or related plant sciences.
  • One year of specialized experience in human resources management and supervisory techniques, with accomplishments in wildlife damage management objectives in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
