General Summary:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness provides vital assessment data support for the institution. This role is responsible for generating assessment reports and dashboards for decision-makers. The Director oversees the production of standard official data reports for external entities and manages non-standard internal ad-hoc data requests. This position ensures the effective administration of college surveys, including campus climate surveys and external surveys that inform the public about the institution's profile. The Director is also tasked with designing queries and pivot tables.

Requirements:

Master's degree in research design, measurement, statistics, higher education, social science, policy analysis, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Proficient in cleaning, debugging, and analyzing complex datasets that integrate data from various sources, with the ability to rapidly create ad hoc database queries using modern desktop database tools such as SQL.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Experience in creating dashboards using PowerBI or Tableau is necessary. Knowledge of IPEDS and other mandatory federal reports is expected. Experience in building assessment dashboards is advantageous. The ability to work effectively and collaboratively across disciplinary boundaries with faculty and students is crucial. Familiarity with issues in higher education, particularly those affecting community colleges, is important. Adherence to the code of ethics of the Association of Institutional Research is required. Understanding of ERP applications (Ellucian Colleague Student System) or Banner is a plus.

Capable of working independently on complex assignments while collaborating with others, maintaining effective working relationships.

Strong time and project management skills are essential. The ability to present complex ideas and analytic findings clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, is required. Familiarity with how community colleges provide access, respond to community needs, and ensure equity is desirable.

Duties:
  • Facilitate the systematic collection of assessment data within the institution.
  • Write SQL scripts to extract data from the data warehouse.
  • Serve as backup for IPEDS Key holder.
  • Design surveys, analyze, and summarize results of internal, external, and ad hoc surveys for the institution.
  • Analyze institutional data to identify trends, support projections, and guide planning and decision-making.
  • Assist schools in resolving validation errors during data collection and serve on the Data Governance team.
  • Provide data to support grant applications and reporting.
  • Support reporting and accreditation efforts, e.g., ACEN, Middle States, etc.
  • Coordinate and prepare Post-secondary Partnership (PDP) data submissions.
  • Design and format the annual college fact book and fact sheet.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the institution. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
