About the Role

The Project Accountant is a crucial position at Perkins Eastman, responsible for maintaining a successful and profitable office environment. This role requires strong financial acumen, with proficiency in analyzing budgets, costs, and revenue.

As a key business liaison between the Architectural Studio and Accounting department, you will develop relationships with project managers, principals, and studio leaders to achieve financial goals on projects. Your expertise in reviewing bid and proposal finances, executed agreements, and setting up projects in ERP systems will be vital in ensuring seamless financial operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial review of bids and proposals to advise project managers and stakeholders
  • Analysis of executed agreements to identify contractual requirements and obligations
  • Setup of projects in ERP systems according to company policy
  • Collection of legal documentation for budgeted sub-consultants to ensure uninterrupted payments
  • Provision of project reports and financial analyses as requested by project managers
  • Evaluation of project planning and suggestion of corrective actions to enhance profitability
  • Analysis of month-end financial reports to identify outliers and assist project managers in financial planning and forecasting
  • Production of monthly client invoices and requisition forms in a timely manner
  • Participation in monthly studio collection meetings to identify delinquent accounts and resolve outstanding matters
  • Closure of project procedures in accordance with company policy
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional services environment, preferably in architectural, engineering, and construction sectors
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • ERP experience (Deltek Vision) is desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High standards of accuracy and precision
  • Ability to collaborate and cooperate with others towards shared goals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment, working collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines
  • Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information
