Job Title: Public Safety Command Center Operator

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Public Safety Command Center Operator to join our team in Orlando, Florida.

Job Summary:

The Public Safety Command Center Operator will be responsible for monitoring and responding to various systems and situations within our facilities, ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor building systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, emergency generators, medical gas alarms, security, medical, and environmental systems.
  • Adjust systems or contact appropriate resources to correct variations to established parameters.
  • Receive work requests and dispatch work, make emergency announcements, enter work orders, receive and relay call information to staff, and assist with the flow of information to ensure the effective operation of key procedural and control systems.
  • Receive calls for service and dispatch Public Safety Officers as appropriate.
  • Page out alarms, codes, and alerts as necessary.
  • Monitor security technology, including cameras, access control, duress alarms, emergency call box alarms, and infant abduction system.
  • Monitor and respond per procedure to fire alarm systems, smoke control, and related fire suppression systems.
  • Assist with testing of these systems, as required.
  • Monitor and respond to electrical systems, generators, and related alarms.
  • Maintain radio contact and accountability for all Public Safety staff and monitor news sources and situations with potential impact to Nemours Children's Health.
  • Maintain equipment and alarm status and enter service tickets as appropriate.
  • Proactively dispatch Public Safety Officers to areas of potential need based on observations from camera and/or access control systems and page out alarms, codes, and alerts.
  • Maintain appropriate log books, post orders, daily activities, and other associated Public Safety materials.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required.
  • Possesses and maintains Florida Class D Security license required.
  • Proficient in all computer and technology applications utilized by Public Safety Department.
  • Working knowledge of security policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Able to work varying shift assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
