Overview

Cedar Point, the largest and most diverse amusement park, is seeking a skilled Ride Mechanic to join its sophisticated team of Maintenance talent. As a Ride Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of rides and devices, utilizing your mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on all rides and devices to ensure safe and smooth operation.
  • Lubricate and troubleshoot mechanical issues to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and replace parts as needed to maintain ride functionality.
  • Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate and repair ride components.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and departments as needed to ensure seamless park operations.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must provide own hand tools.
  • Must join Laborers Union.
  • Good record and writing skills.
  • Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
  • Willing to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods, to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
