Health Program Specialist I

California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking a highly skilled Health Program Specialist I to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Services Delivery System team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of healthcare services to our patients.
Job Summary:The Health Program Specialist I will serve as a technical and subject matter expert in discrete areas of the Mental Health Services Delivery System, including policy and procedure development, data applications, performance trends, and local activities. You will work closely with the Health Program Manager III and other team members to establish a well-functioning healthcare performance management system at our institution.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations governing the Mental Health Program.
- Collaborate with the Health Program Manager III to establish a network of quality improvement committees to oversee improvement activities.
- Design and implement a performance measurement and evaluation system to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement an annual improvement plan that incorporates the highest-priority improvement initiatives.
- Apply quality improvement tools and techniques to achieve performance objectives.
- One year of experience in the California state service performing duties equivalent to Associate Health Program Adviser.
- Or three years of progressively responsible experience in health program administration, with at least one year of major responsibility for a significant program.
- Possession of a Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Hospital Administration, Comprehensive Health Planning, Public Administration, or a closely related health professional field.
Travel is required for this position.
