Custodian II

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Custodian II, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, employees, and visitors.

• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, nurses' stations, and other areas in accordance with established procedures and safety measures.
• Operate floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors.
• Request and restock supplies as necessary.
• Assist in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
• Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations.
• Maintain assigned custodial equipment in good working order.
• Clear trash and debris from outside areas around the hospital.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and methods.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
• Skills in the use of custodial equipment, materials, and the safe handling of chemicals.
• Ability to stay on task and complete work timely.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients.

This position requires the ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Custodian II may be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
