Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform moderately complex custodial work, including cleaning, dusting, disinfecting, and sanitizing of facilities and equipment.
• Operate floor maintenance equipment, such as strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Request and restock supplies as necessary to ensure a well-stocked inventory.
• Assist in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
• Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations as needed.
• Maintain assigned custodial equipment in good working order and report any issues to management.
• Clear trash and debris from outside areas around the hospital and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in custodial work or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
