We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Custodian II, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean, dust, disinfect, and sanitize facilities to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Operate floor maintenance equipment, including strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors
- Request and restock supplies as needed
- Assist in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs
- Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations
- Maintain assigned custodial equipment in good working order
- Clear trash and debris from outside areas around the hospital
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations
- Knowledge of infection control principles and methods
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods
- Skills in the use of custodial equipment, materials, and the safe handling of chemicals
- Ability to stay on task and complete work timely
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods
- Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. The Custodian II will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
