Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic

US Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join their team of skilled mechanics. As a key member of the maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment.
About the Role
This position involves working on a variety of heavy-duty trucks, including tractors, trailers, reefers, and lift gates. You will be required to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and complete documentation of all repair orders. Additionally, you will handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have 3 years of commercial Diesel mechanic or reefer experience. Alternatively, 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience with TK or Refrigeration certification are also acceptable. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
You must also be able to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations, read and understand technical and service manuals, and possess excellent communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is necessary, as well as being willing to work overtime when needed.
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and driving, with occasional lifting of up to 120-150 pounds (2 man lift). You must also be able to push/pull items such as transmissions, tires, and clutches, climb/balance ladders and liftgates, stoop/squat, bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, manipulate objects, twist, and perform other physical tasks as required.
