Director of Nursing Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team at Aase Haugen Senior Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel, including registered nurses and LPNs.
  • Develop and implement staffing procedures to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department, aligning with the organization's overall mission and vision.
  • Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality care.
  • Develop and enforce policies to ensure legal compliance and high-quality standards.
  • Manage budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Resolve issues and deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage record-keeping procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations and improve patient care.
  • Report to upper management on key performance indicators and departmental progress.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Director of Nursing or in a similar leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of long-term care procedures and quality metrics.
  • Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date with changing standards in nursing administration.
  • Excellent leadership and personnel development skills.
  • Great communication and people skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and stress management skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Valid RN license and CPR certification.
