Business Development Executive

As a Business Development Executive at Spectrum, you will be responsible for selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory. Your primary services will include coax delivered Internet, video, and voice, as well as custom hosting, desktop security, data backup, data storage, toll-free numbers, additional email addresses, static IPs, and more.

You will achieve sales and revenue goals through successful prospecting for new customers and the successful sale of bundled services to new customers. You will be responsible for generating all sales leads through a variety of prospecting tactics and working every lead from initial contact to sale.

You will develop and implement a Territory Plan (under the instruction of the Sales Manager) to expand the customer base within your assigned territory. You will be 100% focused on generating new Internet, voice, and video customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Place orders through order management software and work with the Account Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely submission of sales orders, contracts, billing forms, and sales reports
  • Hand off customer service and non-sales related client inquiries to the Customer Service department and focus on selling
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within your assigned territory
  • Meet and exceed performance standards as defined by the department Standards of Performance (SOP) and the Spectrum Way Sales Model
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings as established by management

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Knowledge of communications technologies and services, with an emphasis on telephone and Internet fundamentals
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outside sales experience in a high-transaction, short-closing cycle model
  • Business-to-business sales experience
  • Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Bilingual Spanish

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment and/or outside environment with exposure to inclement weather
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels
