Surgical Technologist- Cardiovascular Operating Room

UPMC Hamot's Cardiovascular Operating Room is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join their team.
The CVOR Team covers Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular cases in the Operating Room and collaborates with the main OR Team to maintain staffing levels.
Required experience includes Cardiac experience, and this position will work Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with shared call hours during off shifts and weekends.
The Operating Room offers a wide variety of specialties, including Robotics, Kidney Transplants, Trauma, and more.
We provide high-quality care for both elective and urgent patients from infant to geriatrics, working with world-class surgeons and anesthesiologists from across the country.
A generous sign-on bonus is offered for full-time Surgical Technologists, with amounts varying based on years of experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing a variety of tasks in the Operating Room to assist the surgical team.
- Arranging sterile setup for surgical procedures, passing instruments, and preparing sterile supplies.
- Assisting in cleanup of the Operating Room, checking equipment, and restocking supplies.
- During surgical procedures, responsible for special trays, graft materials, and recording patient data.
Additional requirements include:
- CPR certification based on AHA standards.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) within 6 months of program completion.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
