Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in diagnosing and managing patients under the supervision of a physician, presenting patient data and recommending diagnostic and therapeutic regimens.
  • Organize and present patient data to supervising physicians, including recommendations for diagnostic and therapeutic orders.
  • Provide instructions and guidance on healthcare and medical therapy to patients, family members, and significant others.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, assessments, and record pertinent data in electronic health records.
  • Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses, institute appropriate therapies, and refer patients to relevant healthcare facilities or resources.
  • Plan and initiate therapeutic regimens, including ordering medications, medical devices, and nutrition and supportive services.
  • Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
  • Administer injections, dispense medications, and troubleshoot issues with electronic health record systems.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution, completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program, certification as a nurse practitioner, and licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse. Alternatively, completion of an accredited physician assistant training program and licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within two months of employment.
