City Colleges of Chicago is actively seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our esteemed faculty as a part-time instructor for our Continuing Education program.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Design and deliver informative lectures and hands-on exercises that encompass various elements of industrial electrical systems, including electrical principles, conduit installation, wiring and cable connections, and motor control techniques.
2. Provide practical training utilizing industry-standard tools and equipment to ensure participants acquire essential hands-on experience.
3. Evaluate participants' progress through assignments, quizzes, and practical assessments, offering constructive feedback and guidance as necessary.
4. Foster a safe and inclusive educational environment, adhering to established electrical safety protocols and regulations.
5. Collaborate with the Continuing Education Department to ensure the program aligns with industry standards and meets participant expectations.


Required Qualifications:


1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician or in a closely related field.
2. Demonstrated expertise in electrical principles, conduit installation, wiring and cable connections, electrical equipment setup, and motor control.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols and regulations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.
5. Previous teaching or training experience is highly desirable.


Preferred Qualifications:


1. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline –OR– possession of an Electrical or Maintenance Technician Journeyman status card (preferred).
2. Relevant professional certifications in industrial electrical maintenance.
3. Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
4. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
